Determination of protodioscin in tribulus terrestris by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography

In this study, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used to analyze the protodioscin content in Tribulus terrestris samples. They were separated by C18 column, gradient with 0.1 % phosphoric acid solution and acetonitrile as mobile phase flow rate of 0.5 mL/min, column temperature 45 °C, detection wavelength 203 nm. The results showed that has a good linear correlation (r>0.999) within range 50 mg/L 1500 mg/L. samples raw material from Crimea it found: 0.546 ± 0.013 analyzed Western Siberia 0.338% 0.008 for n=3. Raw materials growing are more promising than similar West Siberian region due higher production biologically active products containing steroid saponins.
